This week in game releases: Sept 8-14, 2008
Pick of the week: Rock Band 2 (360)
The sequel to one of the biggest games of last year is now upon us. Well, some of us. Thanks to a timed exclusivity deal, Rock Band 2 will only be available to Xbox 360 owners on Sunday, with PlayStation 2, 3 and Wii versions due out later this year
The sequel will feature a number of improvements over its predecessor, including an online world tour mode, better instruments, and improved tutorials. You can even bring over your tracks from the original Rock Band, though it will cost you $5 to do so.
Hockey fans are also in for a treat this week, as both EA's NHL 2009 and 2K's NHL 2K9 will see a release. And for the first time, Wii owners will finally be able to get in on the action as 2K9 will be making its debut on Nintendo's console.
Other notable releases include: Viva Pinata coming to the DS and Yakuza making its return on the PS2. Also, Gordon Ramsey fans should note, the Hell's Kitchen game for Wii and DS is rated "E", so there will be none of his trademark cursing.
